One client wanted to start her own architecture firm. She initially contacted us to do all the business formation tasks, secure an Employee ID number, and to handle all the bookkeeping. Over time, as the business grew, we helped to secure bank financing and the client hired an in-house office manager who took on the day-to-day bookkeeping, with our oversight in a part-time CFO role. We set up, installed and trained their internal staff on QuickBooks. We have assisted with tax planning and succession planning. Our involvement with the client has shifted over time from day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks to more of an oversight position, based on the client needs and how our support can most benefit the client’s business.

We have many clients who are craftspeople, working from sunrise to sunset.  They take running their business very seriously, but have limited time to dedicate to the day-to-day finances of the business. We handle all aspects of their bookkeeping (including invoices, balancing their checkbook, credit card statements, recording receipts, etc.), maintaining QuickBooks on their behalf and reconciling every month. This allows our clients the time to focus on the work they love, while knowing their business is in good hands. And, when tax time comes, we have all the information needed to prepare their taxes.
